Crowdfunding in Bogota
As a general rule, references to Colombia evokes rather negative associative flow, featured drug trafficking, corruption and political instability, and not marked with masterpieces of architecture and high-rise buildings. In this context, the latest information from Bogota forces us to abandon this widespread cliché.
BD Bacatá (Bogotá Downtown Bacatá) - is the first skyscraper to be built in Colombia in 35 years. It will be the tallest skyscraper in Colombia, surpassing the Torre Colpatria (Colpatria Tower) and the second tallest in South America, and the first crowd funded skyscraper, meaning that it was funded by natural persons through buying of shares and fiduciary rights allowed by the Colombian law.
Prehistory the creation of the tower – is a major international company Fidi Global instead of relying on one developer to finance the $240 million project, has pushed a different model for the skyscraper: to have Colombians fund the building themselves.
The financing of the building can radically change the face of the capital and also the appearance of Colombia abroad.
