Lakhta Center - Unique Experience

Petroprofil Plus, LLC is the pre-eminent glass-aluminum structural systems manufacturer. Highly successful fifteen-year experience has enabled the company to become one of the key contractors in the construction of the tallest building in Europe - Lakhta Center. The company manufactured and installed glass-aluminum structures of the inner courtyard of the multifunctional center located at the foot of the world-famous 462-meter tower. Although this multi-purpose facility does not claim a place in the Guinness Book of Records, its shape and size are demonstrably impressive: the height of the building reaches 80 meters, and the length is 300 meters. Structurally, the building is even more complex than the flagship edifice, and for the length of its facades it is called the “horizontal dominant” and the “lying skyscraper”.

In the words of Anton Dvornikov, General Director of Petroprofil Plus, LLC, a courtyard is one of the key spaces of the entire complex. The things will be humming here: shops, cafes, recreational areas. Two facades, in between which the public space is located, are open onto the courtyard. From the top, the courtyard is covered with a translucent structure made on the ETFE-film basis, and outside - the roof of the buildings is lined with decorative aluminum grilles and belts to create a special shape in accordance with the author’s concept design. 

The facades are interconnected by walkways, and behind the glass walls of the upper floors, which made of the German Schüco profile and the AGC glass, there will be offices that impose special requirements on glazing: if it is no need to protect future office workers from the cold, then the noise insulation should be absolute.
