The brief called for an iconic landmark in the Nansha’s new district center to mark a new phase of district development as the new free trade zone. Nansha Kingboard Free Trade Zone Mixed-use Project designed by Aedas is located in Guangzhou - the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. This is a mixed-use development with commercial office and serviced apartment spaces, all housed in a single building.

New ambitious project of Aedas, created within the framework of the economic development program of China presents a sense of grandeur much like a gateway to the Belt and Road. Architecturally speaking, the design answers the challenges posed by the irregular-shaped site and local regulatory codes, with a sculptural geometry to maximize views and stand up as a metaphorical gateway to Belt and Road for the Nansha district.
