The various aspects of the global crisis have recently forced developers to decline bright and ambitious projects. In this respect the new skyscraper at the edge of Central Park which is nearly a sacred place for all New Yorkers and a meeting point of urban legends and mysteries as well as a natural setting for a quarter of Hollywood movies looks extremely attractive. The new skyscraper was created by Pritzker Prize-winning French architect Christian de Portzamparc.

Although his works are traditionally considered moderately postmodern in style, this building is perceived as an example of elegant and refined neo-modernism. Absolutely confident of his artistic sustainability, the master as a true Frenchman, designs the project in the stylistics that he finds most acute and relevant in this day and age. And since in modern high-rise construction the individual interpretation of modernism is important, the master who came back to work in New York after a long break has shown the way he perceives the image of the new skyscraper that is needed for the city and the specific location.

One57 is under construction and its site is located in-between Sixth and Seventh Avenue across the street from Carnegie Hall. This is one of the most interesting and expensive areas of the city that is home to many famous cultural and entertainment venues of New York, tourist attractions, art galleries, restaurants, hotels and the most spectacular shopping facilities of the world, including Van Cleef and Arpels, Tiffany & Company and Bergdorf Goodman. Rockefeller Center, Times Square, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Radio City Music Hall are also located a few blocks away from the new tower. Due to its location and decent height the future residents of the skyscraper will simply enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of Central Park, the financial district, the Hudson and the East River.
