Downtown Dubai has been built up from desert conditions over the past 10 years, with the 828 meter tall Burj Khalifa at its center, and also features Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall, boasting 80 million visitors a year, and the spectacularly choreographed Dubai Fountain. In the final phase of development for this area, Emaar is developing a luxury apartment property on Plot D1D2 that will take its place among the highest quality residences in the Opera District, and is scheduled to open in 2019. It is particularly remarkable that The Lofts residential towers, one of the earliest developments in Downtown, stands on the adjacent site.

In May 2015, Emaar Properties announced the twin tower project called Forte Towers - one of which will be a 70 storey building, making it the third tallest tower in the District. As a high end apartment property in the Opera district, Forte Towers took its name from the Italian musical term, “forte” meaning “strength”, The provision of cultural facilities is expected to strengthen the tourism attractiveness of Dubai and to enhance the overall image of the opera district as a “must-see” area for tourists.

As implied by Emaar’s sales slogan “Center of Now”, Plot D1D2 will form a part of the new cultural center in conjunction with Dubai Opera and Dubai Fountain, one of the world’s largest entertainment fountains.
