Professional Recognition
Thornton Tomasetti Chairman & CEO Tom Scarangello has added another professional honor to his resume. He was inducted into the National Academy of Construction (NAC), which recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions to the engineering and construction professions, at its Oct. 23 annual meeting in Charleston, S.C. “I’m honored to be elected into the National Academy of Construction and to be recognized by my peers for my contributions to advancing this industry,” he said.
The National Academy of Construction is composed of construction users, engineers, designers, constructors, consultants, attorneys, sureties and academics that have made a significant impact on the effectiveness of the engineering and construction industries and are recognized leaders in their respective fields. The NAC encourages members to volunteer their expertise to a variety of organizations, governmental and nongovernmental, for the betterment of the industry as a whole.
Affiliated with the University of Texas at Austin, the NAC currently has some 200 members, including Thornton Tomasetti Founding Chairman Charlie Thornton, who was inducted in 2005. Here, Tom is inducted into the National Academy of Construction by NAC President Dominick Servedio.
