Foundation Structure Calculations
In the north-western part of the International Business Complex of “Moscow-City” between plots number 12 and number 13 on the south and plot number 14 in the east, is a plot of 16, divided by the “diaphragm wall” into two different depth parts - 16A and 16B. At plot № 16A is intended the construction of two high-rise buildings - the 49-storey office (215.3 m) and the 85-storey block (329.6 m). The buildings are designed with two basement floors under a single level stylobate and high-rise part of the complex. At the plot № 16B is provided the erection of 15-storey above-ground parking with a 5-level underground parking and stylobate. Developer of the site is the company Capital Group CJSC, the customer is Investprofi LLC, subcontractor on palification - firm Kasktash and pile tests were conducted by FKS -L LLC.
Presented on the Figure 1 high-rise buildings have the classic prismatic shape. Both buildings have the most modern construction structures composed by central core and peripheral frame. The central loaded core relies upon the underground system of the powerful, load-bearing walls made from reinforced concrete. The peripheral frame transmits the loads to the foundation through the columns. For such a building design concept the most important condition during the foundation design is to ensure the acceptable values of heel angle, subsidence and their unevenness. The buildings in construction at the Area 16А differ from already built high-rise buildings on the International Business Complex of “Moscow City” project-site by having only two underground storeys. I.e. the depth of their burial is much smaller.
The geotechnical structure of this area generally is similar to adjacent areas. The territory in question is located in joint of floodplain and over floodplain areas of the Moscow River and it is characterized by absolute marks of 131.40–132.70 m with slight slope towards the river. The characteristic features of the geological structure of the area are the anthropogenic character of the strata’s top part, as well as relatively close to surface situation of alternating limestone and clay-marl layers of Carboniferous Period. Full up soil in the upper part of the geological section is underlain by thin upper-alluvial deposits - mostly sand.
Below them relies the Upper Jurassic clays of solid and semi-solid consistence. The Upper Carboniferous sediments are underlying the Upper Jurassic clays and represent an alternation of claymarl and half-rock dolomite-limestone strata. Lower on the geological section the voskresenskaya strata is spread, which is underlain by interlayered strata of suvorovskaya limestone, marls and clay-marl. Down by the section the Middle Carboniferous rocks of myachkovsko-podolsky strata was found. They are represented by interbedded limestone. In regard to the possibility of the karst-suffusion processes triggering the area of construction is declared safely. However, during the geological research the high fissured limestone zones were recognized, as well as the general heterogeneity of rock formations was detected.
