The Tower – has 3 underground parking levels and 80 storeys comprising 529 living premises – studios, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments and penthouses. D1 will provide many quiet corners for relaxation or congenial meetings. In the lobby, the cool and comfortable Café Lounge will be a favorite place to entertain friends or simply sit and linger.
Residents will enjoy privileged access to a resident’s lounge, an indoor pool, gymnasium, and kids club, as well as a business centre with boardroom and function room. A permanent concierge service, ready to meet every need from stocking your fridge to ordering fresh flowers, will be just a phone call away. Inhabitants and their guests will be lifted upwards by 8 high-speed express elevators. High rise lifts within the building have been completed allowing the transportation of both men and materials throughout the tower. To provide a smooth transition between the podium and the Tower, a concept of a free-form podium timber canopy was designed. It is inspired by the traditional shape of deep- sea dhow vessels, associated with forms of the regional fishing nets. The resultant shade structure, so evocative of the mushrabiya (Arabian screens), pays authentic homage to the local setting as the towering form of D1 rises above the live – enhancing shade of the canopy. This unique canopy has been manufactured in Germany and is now complete and awaiting sea transport arrangements.
