Herzog & de Meuron has released images of their proposed scheme for the redevelopment of an old brewery site on the banks of the Moscow River. The Badaevskiy Brewery project will see the transformation of a largely abandoned cluster of historic, industrial buildings, a delicate restoration project contrasting with the contemporary addition of a residential “Horizontal Skyscraper.” With this bold addition elevated on tall, slender stilts, a new ground-level public park is created to strengthen ties between the brewery site and adjacent river.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) announced the winners of the 16th Annual CTBUH Awards Program, which competed for winning distinctions at the 2018 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference from May 30-31 at Aqua Tower in Chicago. The CTBUH Awards Jury has named Oasia Hotel Downtown the “Best Tall Building Worldwide”, in addition to recognizing the winners of nine individual award categories.

A new superstructure is set to displace the Petronas Twin Towers as the tallest building in Malaysia. The Exchange 106, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2018, the New Straits Times (NST) reported. It currently stands at 450 metres above ground. Upon completion, it will tower at 492.3 metres, the height equivalent of 112 floors. This is some 40 metres taller than the Petronas Twin Towers, which stand at 451.9 metres.
