The KPF and Tavernor-designed New Bondway project in Vauxhall has been granted planning approval by Lambeth Council. The project site stands within the Nine Elms development on London’s South Bank and is currently occupied by a warehouse which will be demolished to make way for the New Bondway scheme. An application to have the warehouse listed was unsuccessful.
Leatop Plaza, a commercial office building in Guangzhou, China, has been awarded LEED Gold Certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), marking JAHN’s first LEED Gold project in Asia. Completed in 2012, Leatop Plaza is a 302.7m-high (architectural height) commercial scheme which currently holds the title of 26th tallest building in China and 5th tallest in the city of Guangzhou.
Architecture firm Goettsch Partners (GP) has been hired by developer China Resources Land Limited (CR Land) to design a massive project located in Neighborhood 2 of Shenzhen’s Qianhai district. The project covers 6.18 hectares and includes five commercial towers totalling 450,000 sq m – the firm’s largest project to date in China.
Rocco Design Architects has been awarded first place in an open competition for the new headquarters for CITIC Securities Company Limited in Shenzhen. The client will now negotiate with the top three firms in the competition before moving forward with the project. Located on the western gateway to Shenzhen Bay, the mixed-use development comprises 241,000 sq m of space on a 50,770 sq m site.
The DBI Design Architecture-designed Sanbano Coolangatta residences on the Gold Coast, Australia have been completed. The high-rise residential tower was commissioned by Hong Kong-based developer Sanbano Group and the design speaks to the area’s reputation as a thriving beach resort. Anchoring the development is a boutique retail podium and glass-rich atrium featuring high ceilings.

The facility was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik in the first days of September.
In January 2014, amphibianArc won first prize in the Ningbo Yinzhou Southern CBD Portal Project Planning Design Competition. The long-awaited Northeast Asia Trade Tower (NEATT) in Songdo International Business District, Incheon has opened for business. The KPF and Heerim Architects & Planners-designed structure topped out in 2009 however financial complications are said to have delayed the completion of the 308m-high tower.
