Special Measures and Ambient Cure of High-Rise Structures Made from B60 – B100 Series of High-Strength Concrete in the Winter Period

(Issue of a magazine 3/2013, page 104)

The climatic conditions in most regions of Russia during 4 - 7 months of the year could be characterized as winter conditions, when the average outdoor temperature is below +5°C and the minimum daily temperature is below 0°C. These conditions force to fulfill a specific procedures during the concrete works, which are reflected in the Regulation Code SP70.13330.2012 (updated version of SNIP 3.03.01-87) «Buildings’ supporting structures and envelopes».

Aeroelasticity Estimation in the Construction of Curtain Wall Systems

Aeroelasticity Estimation in the Construction of Curtain Wall Systems

(Issue of a magazine 1/2013, page 98)

Aeroelasticity or aeroelastic interaction happens when an elastic object interacts with the air (air flow). During this process the air flow affects the objects and vice versa the object affects the air flow: aerodynamic forces that act on the elastic object trigger the deformation of its surface, which in its turn changes the aerodynamic forces. In our case the elastic object is either a building or a structure.

In the north-western part of the International Business Complex of “Moscow-City” between plots number 12 and number 13 on the south and plot number 14 in the east, is a plot of 16, divided by the “diaphragm wall” into two different depth parts - 16A and 16B. At plot № 16A is intended the construction of two high-rise buildings - the 49-storey office (215.3 m) and the 85-storey block (329.6 m). The buildings are designed with two basement floors under a single level stylobate and high-rise part of the complex. At the plot № 16B is provided the erection of 15-storey above-ground parking with a 5-level underground parking and stylobate.

Aluminum Formwork as a Factor of High-Speed Construction

Aluminum Formwork as a Factor of High-Speed Construction

(Issue of a magazine 4/2012, page 100)

«Time is Money» this Benjamin Franklin’s phrase is rather pointful for current situation in construction business. In the age of high-speed technologies the construction processes should be accurate and speedy to gain the customer. Modern technologies make it quite possible. The reliable formwork also allows achieving such results. By means of such construction systems is possible to build up monolithic concrete walls, shafts, columns and wide range of other construction elements and modules.
