We have already written about the project that won an international competition in Taiwan Tower Competition proposal, which was held in Taichung, Taiwan. Today we represent outstanding challenging piece of art of young Swedish architects from the company Visiondivision - Ulf Mejergren and Anders Berensson, who also took part in it.

Shenzhen is one of the three main special economic zones on the main land as the counterpart of Hong Kong. Now it is one of the most emerging cities among developing China. This status the city received in 1980. No wonder that the main office of China Taiping Insurance and its member companies - Taiping Finance Tower is to be erected here. By then, China Insurance Regulatory Commission will enter and be stationed in the Tower. After completed, the tower will become a landmark for Funtain and an important strategic base to accelerate domestic business development.

Guangzhou is a city with a very long history, more than two thousand years. In former times it was one of the most important sea-gate on the Grate Silk road. Twice a year here take place the Canton Fair, CECF – one of the most important events in industrial and sales sphere. (In former time Guangzhou was known in Europe as Canton).

The third most populous city of Japan (more than 2 million 660 thousand people) – Osaka, located in the southern part ofHonshu, near mouth of the Yodo River in the Osaka Bay has a long history. Despite the fact that it has received city status in 1956, the town came here not later than the IV century. It was known as Naniwa, and until Nara Period (710–794), the time when every new Emperor always moved the residence to his native place; the town used to be the very first capital of the country.

The skyscrapers capital – Dubai gained another landmark building. According to the Council for building construction and urban habitat (CTBUH ), the best skyscraper in the Middle East and Africa acknowledged Tower The Index, was erected here on the draft British architectural firm Foster+Partners. Awards Juror Werner Sobek noted that “the Index presents a new environmental icon for the Middle East, showcasing important passive strategies of orientation, core placement and shading.”

Nanjing, once the capital of six dynasties, is now one of the largest economic zones of China, the infamous Yangtze River Delta. Surrounded by the Yangtze River and mountains, Nanjing enjoys beautiful natural scenery and more than a thousand year of history. Today it is a major economic and cultural center of China and also an important transportation hub. In 2014 here will be held Summer Youth Olympic Games.

Smith+Gordon Gill Architecture is pleased to announce that it is designing Kingdom Tower, to be the world’s tallest building, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, near the Red Sea. At over 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) and a total construction area of 530,000 square meters (5.7 million square feet), Kingdom Tower will be the centerpiece and first construction phase of the Kingdom City development on a 5.3 million-square-meter site in north Jeddah.
